I decided right after hearing this episode to do some investigating myself about the title. According to the Internet Archive, the television version of this episode was entitled “The Big Bounce”. When I read Michael Hayde’s book “My Name’s Friday”, however, it lists this episode on television as “The Big TV” (Airdate 2/3/55) also. Like you, Adam, I can’t see the connection between the title of the episode and the story itself!

OK, I just listened to part of the program again, and I may have figured out where the “Big TV” name might have come from. In the middle of the show Joe mentions that the missing woman’s picture was televised on the “police program”. Then the next day they got the call from the nurse at the state mental hospital saying there was a patient there that looked like the woman on the picture shown on the program, and it turned out to be the woman they were looking for.
