My Favorite 1960s Dragnet #31: Management Services-DR11
This Season 3 episode was a real gem, a “nuts and bolts” show about the City of Los Angeles prepares for a potential emergency. In this case, the feared cause was the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr which occured only a few months before this episode of Dragnet aired.
This episode was relevant then, and is really a time capsule of a show that takes viewers back in time forty years. It captures the real mood of the moment, and the concerns that the working policeman dealt with while keeping his city safe in a world that oftentimes seemed to have gone mad.
